Welcome to the Kumon of Troy East

Kumon of Troy East is run by Mrs. Sunnie Kwon and Mr. Harry Kwon. Mrs. Sunnie Kwon has been a certified Kumon Instructor for 20 years now. Her educational background in early childhood development has helped the growing community and the youth of Troy by developing a solid foundation in the core concepts of math and reading. Mrs. Kwon has traveled all over the world in pursuit of teaching knowledge. She has also been a presenter at numerous Kumon conferences in the past and is currently serving on the Instructor Advisory Committee. Mr. Harry Kwon, a computer engineer and former consultant for GM, now dedicates all of his time to teaching our upper level students (Calculus 2 and above) at Kumon. Together, the Kwon family has made Kumon their business and will always promise to work hard at making the Kumon Method fit each individual student. Kumon of Troy East has had the honor of celebrating the most Program Completers in the Northeast region.

Kumon of Troy East has been open since March 1990 and is located on Dequindre just south of Wattles Road. The newly built 5000 sq. ft building offers a spacious and child friendly learning environment for the students to come in and develop their skills in a very pleasant and updated surrounding. Our mission is to reach every child and help them to build strong learning skills, disciplined study habits, and the confidence they need to succeed in school...and beyond.
